Non-Resident Memberships can be either Equity or Non-equity Memberships based upon the availability at the time of application.
A Non-Resident Membership entitles the named person on the membership application and his or her immediate* family to use all of the golf, tennis, swimming, and social facilities of the club without limitation.
A Non-Resident Member is defined as follows:
- A person over the age of twenty-one (21) years and his/her immediate* family;
- The person must live 75 or more miles outside the city limits of Springfield;
- The person whose name appears on the membership application for a Non-Resident Member; and
- The Non-Resident Member who has been approved for membership by the Board of Governors, after the application process, and paid all applicable fees, dues, etc.
The Non-Resident Member shall control the use of the Club by his or her immediate* family, and he or she has the right to restrict or relinquish such use altogether. The Non-Resident Member shall not be permitted to transfer the equity portion of a membership (if applicable) to his or her immediate* family or anyone else.
Note: * Immediate Family is limited to the member’s spouse, the member’s unmarried children and/or stepchildren under the age of 23 who live at home. Special consideration is also given for children/stepchildren that have returned from service in the Armed Forces of the United States, attend school on a full-time basis or have recently completed their education. Also included are the member’s parent(s) provided that the parent has attained the age of 65 and is a full-time resident of the member’s home. Finally, the term “immediate family” may include a “significant other” for unmarried members provided that certain criteria are met.
Note: Should the member listed on the membership application move to within 75 miles of the city of Springfield, they would cease to be eligible for Non-Resident Membership. They may be elected to a Regular, Social or other type of Membership provided they have notified the Membership Committee of their intention and the Board of Governors has approved the transfer into the desired membership class.
