Policies and Procedures for Swim Lessons:

  1.  There will be four, two-week sessions of swim lessons available this year. No partial sessions will be permitted for any reason.

  2. Once you select the time for your child’s lessons, you must attend that time slot without substituting for another time slot.

  3. Each session will consist of six, ½ hour lessons. Lessons will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays unless noted otherwise. There will be one make-up day per session as listed on the session schedule.

  4. The cost per session will be $65.00 per child which will be billed when your registration forms are turned in. Registration fees are non-refundable.

  5. Registrations must be received one week prior to the start of the session or your child will not be able to participate in the lessons. Registrations must be turned into the clubhouse office only. Registrations turned in at the pool will not be accepted.

  6. All sessions are in a group setting with a maximum of 4 children per instructor.

  7. For each time frame, there will be lessons available for beginners, advanced beginners and intermediate skill swimmers. It is incumbent upon the parents to place the child in the most suitable skill level based upon the following descriptions: Beginner: For children three years of age and older. This class is designed to help the first time swimmers become comfortable in the water. Students will learn skills in water entry / exit, breath control, floating, kicking with a flotation devise and alternating arm action in the water.
Advanced (Beginner): For children who can successfully complete the Beginner program and are confident to proceed to the next level. Students will learn fundamental skills of propelling themselves in the water. They should be able to swim unassisted for short distances and hold their breath under water. Emphasis will be placed on learning the front crawl with strong flutter kick and bilateral breathing and treading water.
Intermediate: For children who can successfully complete the tasks set forth in the above classes. This class will develop endurance and coordination of the front crawl and elementary back stroke. The breast stroke and shallow diving skills will also be introduced as well as the back float. Completion of this class will prepare the child for successful participation in our swim team program.

Should your child not have the minimum skills to participate at a higher level, they will be moved to a lower skill class until such time as they master skills required for the higher level class.

  8. Swim lesson will only be held on days that the outside temperature is 70 degrees or above. Panther Creek will use the temperature stated by calling the “time and temperature” number at 544-4477, as the official temperature for swim lessons.
